Wu Yaxin, female, was born in Nanle County, Henan Province in May 1973. Wu Yaxin was enrolled in the School of Foreign Languages, Henan University in 1992 and majored in English Education. In 1996, she graduated with the bachelor’s degree of English. In the same year, exempted from the entrance examination, she was recommended as a postgraduate of the university and majored in English Language and Literature. Wu learned pragmatics from Professor Xu Shenghuan, a well-known linguist in China. In 1999, she got her master’s degree in literature and became a doctoral student majoring in Foreign Languages and Applied Linguistics in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. Then she furthered her study in pragmatics from Professor He Ziran, a famous scholar in pragmatics. Wu’s doctoral thesis was in line of the Outstanding Doctoral Theses of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. After graduation, she worked in the School of Foreign Languages and was promoted as the assistant dean in 2005. Now she assumes the position of the dean of the School and director of China Pragmatics Association. During her visit to State University of New York at Albany from September 2007 to August 2008, Wu learned Pragmatics and English Education from Professor Robert E. Sanders, a celebrated researcher in communication in America.
Wu Junjie, male, was born in Hejin County, Shanxi Province in July, 1970. From 1989 to 1993, he majored in History in the Department of History of Shanxi University. And since graduation in 1993, he worked in Shanxi University. From September 1995 to July 1999, he studied in the Department of History for his master’s degree majoring in Modern History of China. During this period, he published two papers: “The Causes of Cotton Field Increase in Modern Northern China” (Journal of Shanxi University, 2000 second issue) and “The First Armed Struggle Against the Kuomintang Reactionaries - Uprising in Nanchang on August 1, 1927” (Party History Forum, 2000 sixth issue). After graduation, he worked in Shanxi University as a librarian in Institute of History, grade counselor in the Department of History (the School of History and Culture) and director of the office and so on. From March 2007 on, he has been serving as the deputy secretary of the Party Committee in the School of Foreign Languages of Shanxi University and is in charge of both the college students' ideological and political education and party affairs. When working in Shanxi University, he obtained many honorary titles, such as Outstanding Head Teacher in Shanxi Province, Excellent Instructor for Postgraduates of Shanxi University, Advanced Individual in "Three Approaches to Education" of Shanxi University, Advanced Individual in Creating "Safe Campus" etc.
Ji Mofang, assistant professor and tutor of postgraduates, is now assistant dean of the School of Foreign Languages in charge of foreign language teaching for majors. She worked in Shanxi University since she graduated from the School of Foreign Languages with the master’s degree in English Language and Literature in 1991. From 2000 to 2001, she went to the Institute of National Education in Nanyang Technology University of Singapore for further study. And from 2009 to 2010, Ji stayed at New York State University in the United States as a visiting scholar. She mainly engages herself in English teaching and translation studies.
Yu Xinchun, male, was born in February, 1964. He is now assistant dean of the School of Foreign Languages in charge of administration. After July 1986 when he graduated from Shanxi University and got his bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science, he engaged himself in the acquisition of Chinese books in the library of Shanxi University. In July 1995, he was transferred to the School of Foreign Languages. And from January 1996 to July 1997, he served as the secretary of the CPC Youth League Division in the School of Foreign Languages. In August 1997 he became director of the Office of the School of Foreign Languages of Shanxi University. Since November 2003, he has been serving as the deputy secretary of the General Party Branch of the School of Foreign Languages of Shanxi University. Over the past years, he has published 4 theses about the management of students.
